“It’s only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves.”

Adventure Trips

*Due to COVID-19 we will only be offering the 46er trip in 2021. We hope to bring back more of
the offerings described below in 2022.*

Since the first group of Schenectady boys paddled to our Lake George home in 1912, Chingachgook has been a pioneer in youth development and community building through adventure programming in the Northeastern United States. Today, we explore wilderness from the New York Adirondacks to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Canada as a platform to continue this mission.

Develop independence, confidence, leadership, and new outdoor skills that will endure far beyond your trip, as you face new experiences through inspiring environments and awesome adventure sports.

Our Adventure Trips create a progressive program with four levels to match your age and abilities. You can experience opportunities for growth with every year of participation. Discover new destinations, experiences, and challenges, that allow you to fine-tune your leadership year after year. Choose your adventure from four distinct types of trip: backpacking, paddling, multisport and specialty trips. These focuses provide a wilderness experience that meets your interests, skill levels, and personal preferences, all while delivering a unique and inspiring experience.

Challenge serves as an outstanding catalyst for growth and is the keystone of our Adventure Trip Program. We harness each obstacle as a tool to develop lasting collaborative leadership skills that will endure for a lifetime. Your trip leader will work with you to determine appropriate challenges for you and your new close-knit community.
