Outdoor Education

The Adirondacks as a Classroom

YMCA Camp Chingachgook welcomes over 6,000 students annually to the shores of Lake George for experiential outdoor education programs.

Schools from New York, Vermont, Connecticut, and Illinois all head to Chingachgook for single and multi-day experiences. Dynamic outdoor educators lead students of all ages through valuable life-long learning through instruction that is focused on building and maintaining a positive community and teaching individuals to be stewards of the natural world.

*Due to the ongoing pandemic, we are not currently booking school programs for 2021.*

Day Programs at Chingchgook

More than your average field trip, a Chingachgook field experience is an extension of a science unit, a day to work on interpersonal skills, and an adventure in the great outdoors.

"Chingachgook always meets and exceeds our expectations of getting the students active, connected to nature, and providing an experience they are likely never to forget.”
